Was craving a dog and saw this close to my hotel. Simply put banging!!

Sometimes you just want a hot dog. And so why not get a really good hot dog? Also, their onion rings are to die for.

So good, fresh! Great portions. We ate outside. Super family friendly! Will be back for sure.

We had 2 “wet” Italian Beef Sandwiches and fries. The sandwiches were wet and great - from a real Chicago girl! The fries were cooked great too! They have plenty of tables and booths so we could feel comfortable eating inside!

Great Italian beef sandwiches Good quality and service Loved the fries too

Italian beef sandwich brought me back to Chicago! Fries were very good as well! Also very cool exterior and interior decor - I dig it! I’ll be back soon

I had been craving an authentic Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich. I'm not even a beef eater, but I'm a Chicagoan (born and raised). I eat Chicago foods and never miss a chance to grab Portillos when visiting home. I found Chicago Dog in a Google search. The reviews were solid, so I decided to give it a try. Turns out, I've driven past it for ages and never realized it was there. However, I won't make that mistake again. It felt like home. The restaurant was filled with all the bragadocious tchotchkes common in Chicago restaurants. It was spacious and had lots of seating. I placed a to-go order for an Italian Beef sandwich with sweet and hot peppers, fries, a pizza puff, and sweet tea. Ah-mazing. The bread, the beef, the peppers, and the gravy—absolutely delectable. The fries. There is something about the fries you get in Chicago that is slightly unique, but noticeable for folks whose taste buds were trained in Chicago. I don't know if it's a specific potato or the oil...but these fries more than hit the mark with just a little salt. The pizza puff is the most authentic I've had from any restaurant outside of Chicago that claims to serve Chicago food. And the sweet tea was a pure Georgia crafted delicacy. My 8 y/o budding Georgia Peach was uninterested in the food when we were in the restaurant. But the smell of the food on the ride home had her wanting. I shared when we got home. She dug in, loved it, and now wants to go back. We will be back. This Windy City Peach has found a new nostalgic staple from home.

As a Chicagoan of 30+ years I truly enjoyed my Italian beef with sweet and hot pepper mix. Thumbs up and recommended if you are craving a little bit of the Windy City. I will return again and check out your Vienna beef hot dogs. See you then.
